Gift Aid
We now registered to receive Gift Aid on donation made to the Nursery. Gift Aid is a way for charities or Community Amateur Sports Clubs (CASCs) to increase the value of monetary gifts from UK taxpayers by claiming back the basic rate tax paid by the donor. It can increase the value of donations by a quarter at no extra cost to the donor. Gift Aid is worth nearly £1 billion a year to charities and their donors.
You can find out about what kind of donations do and do not qualify on the Gift Aid page on the HMRC's website, and, for reference, out Gift Aid number is XT23863.
Ink Cartridge Recycling
We have recently realised that, as a charity, we can make money collecting and recycling ink cartridges. We thought we would give this a go to help raise som some much needed funds, so please support us and ask friends, family and places of work if they can collect the inkjet cartridges listed below. Originals and refilled empties can be recycled, and can simplly be handed in at the Nursery for us to sort out and send.
- Canon: CLI-8 CLI-41, CLI-51, PG1-5, PG-40, PG-50
- Dell: M4640, M4646
- HP: 15, 21, 22, 27, 28, 45, 56, 57, 78, 336, 337, 338, 339, 342, 343, 344, 350, 351

Tesco for Schools and Clubs
This year, please help us get some great new pieces of equipment from Tesco.
One voucher is given for every £10 spent in Tesco stores and petrol filling stations in a single transaction, and one voucher is given for every £5 spent in Tesco Express stores (subject to certain exclusions). For every working phone we send in, they will give us 20 vouchers (5 for a non-working phone), and for every empty inkjet cartridge we send in that can be recycled, we will be given 10 vouchers. Once you've passed your vouchers (or phones or cartridges!) on to us, we can then exchange the vouchers for free equipment.
This year the banking deadline is the same day as the order deadline, so we have to sent all out vouchers to Tesco by Friday 2nd July 2010. That being the case, please can you make sure you pass all your vouchers to us by the end of the week before, as no further vouchers can be accepted after this date. Find out more from the Tesco for Schools and Clubs website.
Thanks in advance!
Sainsbury's Active Kids 2010
Jenny's Nursery managed to receive some fantastic games and equipment which the children love from last year's Active Kids promotion, so please support us again by bringing in or posting us your vouchers. The vouchers are available from Wednesday 17 February until Tuesday 8 June 2010, with every £10 you spend at Sainsbury's supermarkets, Centrals, petrol stations or online at Sainsburys online earning one AK10 voucher. When you shop in Sainsbury's Local stores, you'll get one voucher for every £5 spent.
Flora Cooking With Schools
This year Jenny's Nursery will be having a go at the Flora Cooking With Schools scheme too! You can help us to get lots of useful free cooking equipment by collecting tokens from specially marked packs of Flora, redeeming your tokens and the pledging them to the nursey.
Cooking with Schools tokens can be found on special packs of Flora spreads until the end of March, and each token bears a code that must be entered against the nursery's name at www.cookingwithschools.com (search for us using our postcode - NR14 6JB). The nursery will then receive the total value of all pledged tokens to buy cooking equipment.
